A word about Harwich, a small sea port with a long, significant History. It was the starting point of the Pilgrim Father's 1620 voyage in Harwich registered ship, the Mayflower. The skipper, Christopher Jones lived here and married a local girl in the local church. The surrender of the German submarine fleet at the end of World War One was another big event, and Radio Caroline the pirate radio station was anchored off. There's more, Harwich is not a tourist hot spot but well worth a visit by the pensive.
